Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician at US Foods in Plymouth, MN, you will be responsible for diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance of diesel equipment in a fast-paced environment. This position emphasizes safety, compliance, and efficient teamwork. The role involves hands-on mechanical tasks, recordkeeping, inventory management, and occasional road service duties. Roles and Duties:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and repair diesel equipment including tractors, trailers, reefers, lift gates, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with company standards.
- Complete all repair order documentation, PM lists, and maintain parts accountability.
- Handle road service calls and perform equipment rescue/transport as needed.
- Log assigned repairs using the Shop Fax system.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment in accordance with EPA, OSHA, and company regulations.
- Manage inventory and assist with recordkeeping.
- Provide backup support for other maintenance shop staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years verifiable experience as a heavy-duty diesel or reefer mechanic; OR 2 years with relevant certifications (Diesel Mechanic or TK/Carrier Refrigeration).
- Competency in diagnostics and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Personal hand tools required.
- CDL A and DOT certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals.
- Computer and software proficiency.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:
Starting pay is $34.00 per hour, with potential earnings up to $38.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications. This role includes overtime compensation, a $15,000 Retention Bonus, and potential premiums for certifications and CDL.
