Job Summary:
As a Facilities Information Systems Technician at General Mills, you will be responsible for supporting production packaging and processing operations, sanitation, and participating in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment at the Pillsbury Plant in Murfreesboro, TN. This role requires the ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency events. The plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Duties and Roles:
- Create high-quality foods that are consumed nationwide.
- Use technology in an industry-leading facility.
- Work with experienced operators and teams to pass down knowledge and skills.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Provide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and modifications.
- Understand, initiate, and participate in Root Cause Analysis (Why, Why).
- Perform both uptime and downtime preventative maintenance.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance platform performance.
- Assist in training new employees.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school education or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing maintenance or a technical degree in industrial maintenance or engineering.
- Completion of IT courses/curriculum or relevant IT experience.
- Experience with fiber optics and other communication cabling installation.
- Working knowledge of electrical components.
- Experience in food manufacturing/production environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Familiarity and comfort with low-voltage applications.
- Experience with troubleshooting and installing I.S. related hardware (cameras, fob readers, monitors, fire alarms, and security systems).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Ability to climb and/or work at heights using stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.
- Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net, and gloves when required.
- Willing to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions.
- Ability to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery.
- Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment.
